Volunteer Opportunities

At Portage Cable Access there are many volunteer opportunities available. We are also always open to any idea from people in the community. The following is just a beginning list of the many possibilities.

Producer

We are here to help people produce their own programs on topics that interest them. We encourage people to come to us with programs they feel are important and need to be produced.

We also cover a great number of events that we know to be important to the community. We need people who are willing to go out and tape these events. A list of these can be seen in production opportunities.

Office Help

With many fundraising activities, office record keeping activities, and tape monitoring we are always in need of someone with good organization skills to assist in our office. We create weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tracking reports which help us evaluate our programming.

Equipment and Cable Repair

If you have some technical experience in equipment maintenance and would be willing to help us out with basic maintenance we could use your help. We check out thirty to forty sets of equipment a month and always have something that needs to be looked at.

Fundraisers

Portage Cable Access currently receives funding from the City of Portage through franchise fees collected from local cable providers and from Portage Public Schools. Additional funds can always be utilized for provision of additional projects and services. For more information please contact us at 323-5130.
